An Entrepreneurial Perspective from the Street
Born and raised in Southern California, Randy Smith has worked in the small to medium-sized business environment since 1982, with a focus on real estate. Mr. Smith has led numerous company mergers, acquisitions and expansion projects. From 1997 to 2008, he led the expansion of a single-office real estate firm with annual revenues of $1.5M to a multi-office firm with independent mortgage and escrow companies producing revenue of $16M. During his tenure, Mr. Smith served as the President/CEO of the 300 employee real estate brokerage, the President of a Department of Corporations escrow company and an officer/corporate secretary of an independent mortgage company.
Post 2008, Mr. Smith was retained as a consultant to a multifamily housing developer to assist in the disposition of more than 40 multifamily properties consisting of over 2000 units, 22 LLCs and 800 investors, including investment analysis, debt and capital restructuring and potential exit strategies.
